Blockchain Commons has worked with a variety of blockchains to advance the Gordian Principles and incorporate our technologies

Why? _Blockchains are where the rubber hits the road for digital assets and (in some cases) digital identities. They’re practical, real-world examples of self-sovereign control of assets; the ultimate goal of Blockchain Commons’ specifications is real-world integration, and blockchains are one of the prime opportunities for that.

Bitcoin

Cryptocurrency Blockchain. Bitcoin remains the king of the blockchains and was also our entry into the field, with macro-architecture and our Learning Bitcoin course. Much of our technology such as SSKR, LifeHash, and OIB was built with Bitcoin in mind.

Smart Contract Cryptocurrency Blockchain. The smart contracts of Ethereum may be some of the smarest custody out there. We’ve long considered ways to highlight this blockchain and hope to do so in the near future.

Zcash

Privacy-Focused Cryptocurrency Blockchain. We love the privacy focus of Zcash because it supports our design philosophy of anti-coercion. We were thrilled to add the Gordian Principle of openness to their stack with ZeWIF, an open wallet interchange format because on Gordian Envelope.
